A Surgical Assistant : what for ?
Following the emergence of computers and data display devices, the
need of surgical teams focused on data base management within the
sensitive environment of the operating theatre.
Navigators or high resolution video screens optimize multiple data
displays, with a backup on DVDs for a simple and direct use, allowing
synthesis, comment or subsequent filing.
Communication and training requirements !
Once ideally managed within the operating room, the data can easily
be shared with others and sent towards consultants in the same hospital
or even abroad, who could then follow the surgical procedure, and even
interfere with it.
This concept is thus extended without any time-nor space limit, in
the case of an International Surgical Remote assistance or that between
an expert surgeon working in the operation room and a group of students
for a Remote Surgical Training.
